Complete Range of Poultry Housing
From Penrhiwgarn Poultry Supplies, Llangynidr, Crickhowell, Powys, NP8 1LL
We offer a superb range of purpose built, tried and tested units to suit all poultry keepers. They can be delivered to you direct from the makers or from ourselves if you are in our delivery area. The makers are Gardencraft, a small family firm from the heart of Snowdonia and the units are made to standards that you thought were forgotten, with no scrimping on materials and no short cuts. Only top-quality imported softwood is used and treatment is by the 'TANALITH' pressure system which gives a timber life expectancy in excess of 20 years without any further attention. All metal parts including timber fixings are galvanised for long life with minimum maintanence. Erection of units is conditional on delivery by our OWN transport and ALL PRICES INCLUDE VAT.

All timber is pretreated in bulk by the TANALITH process. It is place in a sealed pressure chamber and the air is pumped out, the chamber is then flooded with water preservative. The valves are closed and the pressure is raised to high level and maintained for several hours. The chamber is now emptied and the timber left to drain. After a few days drying period the preservative becomes 'fixed' in the grain and the wood is now totally protected against all rot and insect attack. It requires no further treatment whatsoever to maintain its protection although colour stains may be applied if desired. The specification used for the treatment is the same as the Ministry of Transport specification for Motorway Fencing. The life expectancy of the timber is in excess of 25 years. The timber is clean to touch, odourless, non-oily, and will not stain other materials. There is no risk to humans, animals, plants or foodstuffs. As the preservative is already impregnated into the timber you will not have the labour or the potential danger of hand applied remedies. No other method achieves such total protection. All runs can be fitted with 25mm (1") square galvanised weldmesh that works in lieu of 25mm wire netting. This robust, rigid material will prevent even the most determined fox from gaining entry. Please specify at the time of ordering. Please note that Supercoop and Wernlas are fitted with weldmesh as standard. 5 meters long. Made from high quality polypropylene rope with a breaking strain in excess of 1 Tonne. The ends are spliced on to a heavy Stainless Steel snap hook which locates in the eyes of the towing skids. After moving the unit, the rope can be unclipped and stored indoors keeping it clean, dry and pleasant to handle when next required. Liners are made to fit the units from heavy guage polythene. The corners are reinforced and fitted with large brass eyelets so that cord or baler twine can be attached if required. Liners are easy to fit and remove for cleaning by hosing. You should use a suitable litter on the liner (sawdust, shavings, peat, wood chippings etc.) and you may wish to use the spent litter on your compost heap. The liner will give you years of service and replacements are available by post.LAYING ARK & RUN
